Mụn trứng cá, tên khoa học là Acne vulgaris, là bệnh lý ngoài da thông thường, nhưng ảnh hưởng khá lớn đến diện mạo, tâm lý,… của người bệnh. Có thể nói đây là nỗi khổ tâm của nhiều bạn trẻ, nhất là các bạn nữ khi mà hơn 80% thanh thiếu niên Việt Nam bị mụn trứng cá.

Mụn trứng cá có nhiều dạng khác nhau: có thể là những sẩn nhỏ hơi lồi lên mặt da có đầu màu nâu hay đen; có thể là những sẩn nhỏ hơn, chìm dưới da, khó nhìn thấy đầu nhân trứng cá. Nếu mụn trứng cá bị nhiễm khuẩn, các mụn sẽ sưng lên, mưng mủ, có khi trở thành nhọt rất nguy hiểm. Nếu để mụn lâu ngày thì càng dễ bị viêm nhiễm, mụn trở nên to, rộng ra ở dưới da tạo thành các “trứng cá bọc”, nếu nặn ra hoặc vỡ mủ sẽ để lại sẹo, vết thâm gây mất thẩm mỹ.
