          Sáng sớm đầu xuân trời mát lạnh. Con đường mới mở nhưng không xa lạ với anh. Đông, tây, nam, bắc của nó anh từng biết cả, đã từng qua lại nhiều lần. Những nơi con đường sẽ đi qua, sẽ dẫn đến anh cũng đã từng biết, hoặc ít nhất cũng đã từng nghe nói đến nhiều, nghe quen đến độ có cảm giác đã từng đến, đi qua, quen thuộc. Quãng này là một đoạn vắng, không nhà cửa hàng quán tuy chẳng xa mấy khu đô thị đông đúc, có lẽ do con đường chưa xong hẳn; có quãng đã trải nhựa, nhiều đoạn dài vẫn còn nền đá dăm, lổn ngổn. Cũng có thể giờ này còn quá sớm cho những chuyển động, những ầm ĩ, nhộn nhạo trên đường, hoặc đơn giản hơn chưa mấy người quen đi lại trên con đường chưa xong này.

          Chỉ thấy một đoạn đường vắng vẻ. Không người xe, không bò ngựa. Quãng đường chạy vào hai bên rừng dương. Những vạt dương dày, cao niên trải dài trên những đụn cát khi lúp xúp lúc lô nhô che kín hai bên, thỉnh thoảng vài con chim nhỏ bay vút lên từ những đọt dương rồi sà xuống đâu đấy. Anh nghe được cả tiếng sóng biển ầm ỳ phía sau rừng dương không xa lắm.

          Bỗng dưng trong anh trỗi dậy một cảm giác lạ lẫm, khác thường. Anh biết rõ không xa sau hai mảng dương ôm lấy mặt lộ, một bên là bờ biển; cái bờ biển không lạ, đã từng có trong tầm nhìn của anh. Bên nọ, phía trên kia là một đai lộ hai chiều hoành tráng của khu đô thị. Anh mới đi vào đoạn đường này lần đầu nhưng toàn cảnh, toàn khu vực là một chốn quen, như là một phần của làng, một phần của phố anh đã lớn lên sinh sống, cưới vợ, sinh con. Thế mà bỗng dưng anh thấy lạ.

          Cái cảm giác xa lạ ở đâu bỗng dưng ập đến. Con đường xa lạ. Cảnh vật chung quanh xa lạ. Anh nới tay ga cho xe chạy chậm lại. Vừa phải. Những vạt dương dài vẫn còn hun hút trước mắt. Có cảm giác anh đã rời phố thị của anh đâu xa lắm. Có cảm giác toàn bộ khu vực đối với anh là hoàn toàn lạ lẫm. Mà không giống cái cảm giác khi lần đầu tiên anh chạy trên lộ 14 qua 140km đường đèo dốc núi chưa hề đi, từ một thành phố phía bắc qua thị xã phía nam để chơi với bạn.

          Những nẻo đường qua lại cày cuốc thường ngày, thường chẳng mấy ai để ý. Quang cảnh, cảnh vật bên đường cứ như một đoạn phim tour đi tour lại trong ta đến nát nhừ, nhàm chán. Mọi động tác cứ như đã sẵn một lập trình. Đến cái ngã ba ấy, cũng cái xe bánh mì hơi xịch về tay phải ấy là quẹo phải. Đến cái ngã tư đèn xanh đèn đỏ ấy là dừng lại nếu thiên hạ dừng. Chúng ta đi, trong cái xách treo bên là đơn xin học cho con, là phiếu hẹn khám bệnh, là hồ sơ lên lương để nộp cho sếp nhưng đường đi của chúng ta là theo đàn, theo lũ. Chúng chạy ta chạy. Người dừng ta dừng. Đến đoạn này ta rẽ, nhưng lập tức ta nhập ngay vào một bầy đàn khác. Cái cảm giác bầy đàn ấy lắm khi chưa chắc đã thoát khỏi ta ngay cả khi ta đã rời thoát khỏi con đường. Gangnam Style thì còn là một chút của dấu ấn cá nhân, còn có chút kỹ năng và luyện tập chứ đến Harlem Shake thì đúng là hiệu ứng đám đông là tâm lý bầy đàn thời đại. Một góc phố, một đoạn nhạc, hai con chim cánh cụt khởi đầu và thế là một “vũ hội” được trình diễn. Mỗi người mỗi nhún, chẳng cần ai phải “khớp” với ai. Cái chính là hoà vào, là nhập với đám đông. Dĩ nhiên là anh không nghĩ là mình “rảnh” để lý giải một hiện tượng, một phong trào…

          Nếu có dịp lại đi trên những nẻo đường riêng ta có nhiều kỷ niệm, dẫu đẹp, dẫu đau, hoặc vui hoặc khổ vẫn luôn cho ta những xúc động bồi hồi. Có khi đó là những cảm giác tươi vui trong hoài niệm. Có thể là nỗi buồn của xa vắng, cô đơn. Cũng có thể là một thoáng xa lạ, một thoáng chốc thôi, nhưng rồi đoạn phim kỷ niệm sẽ hiện lên ngay và ta đi với nỗi lòng năm tháng ấy…

          Lần đầu tiên đi trên một con đường lạ, chưa từng đặt chân qua, dẫu biết ta từ đâu và muốn đến đâu, dẫu đã có nhiều người từng qua chỉ vẽ cứ đi thế đi thế… Cảm giác đầu tiên của ta vẫn cứ là e dè, cảnh giác. Thậm chí đối với một số người là lo sợ. Đó là những cảm và nghĩ rất thật, rất người và rất chánh đáng. Cái đận nghe bạn hú anh xách xe nhất nhơn nhất mã chạy 140km dốc núi đường đèo chưa từng hình dung đến, anh vẫn có đầy những cảm và nghĩ như thế. E ngại với những bất trắc, có thể những tình huống bất lương; và lầm lộn những ngã rẽ, khúc quẹo trên con đường mà ta chưa hề một lần bước chân qua. Nhưng sáng nay, trên đoạn đường vắng này, cái cảm giác xa lạ của anh hoàn toàn khác hẳn.

          Anh đang đi trong một vùng quen thuộc. Phía trước dẫn tới đâu anh biết. Phía sau lưng anh ra khỏi nhà chỉ vừa mươi cây số. Bên phải bên trái anh đều rành. Chỉ là một đoạn đường vắng. Vậy mà bỗng dưng anh thấy xa lạ hoàn toàn. Như một cõi giới đâu đâu, muôn trùng với nơi chốn của anh thường hằng. Rồi thậm chí cái cảm giác ấy, cái hốt nhiên ấy bỗng như bập vào anh, tràn ngập, xâm chiếm lấy anh làm cho anh, phút chốc bỗng trở thành một con người khác. Một người khác anh hôm qua, khác anh tuần trước, một người khác anh cách đây nửa tiếng đồng hồ. Và con người lạ ấy, cái người khác chính anh hôm qua ấy, trong phút chốc cũng có những suy nghĩ khác, những mông lung khác hẳn với anh hôm nào.

          Anh vẫn giữ tay ga thong thả. Dưới cốp xe vẫn là không biết gởi con bé ở đâu cho tiện và… lợi hay lại nhờ bà ngoại đến nữa, vẫn là làm sao chuyển cửa hàng của vợ đến chổ nào… oách oách hơn một tý! Vẫn là những nỗi lo và ước muốn đời thường. Vẫn là những ước vọng và lo toan đời người còn đó. Mà sao cùng lúc anh tưởng như mình cũng đang đồng thời có những vẩn vơ nào đấy, những nghĩ suy nào đấy khác hẳn với thường ngày.

          Chiếc xe thoát ra khỏi đoạn rừng dương. Đã lại thấy người xe, bò ngựa, nhà cửa ruộng đồng. Tự dưng, cái cảm giác khác người của anh biến mất. Mặt trời đã lên như một ngày mới thực sự bắt đầu. Anh dừng xe cạnh một cây tạp khá cao bên vệ đường và lục túi châm thuốc hút. Cứ làm như là dừng lại để… định tĩnh cái thần hồn sau khi vừa thoát xong một sự nguy kịch, vừa qua xong một tình huống kinh hãi nào đó. Chẳng có gì cả.

          Thì ra, trong một lúc nào đó, cũng vẫn trong cõi giới của ta, cũng vẫn còn nguyên đó những nhọc nhằn, ước vọng người đời nhưng chỉ cần thêm một chút khác lạ thôi, một chút thay đổi thôi, được cắt đuôi với tâm lý bầy đàn, trong thinh không tĩnh lặng, trong trẻo và bao la cô lẻ, ta sẽ thấy mình thay đổi xiết bao….   ./.
